HP Creates New Mobility Unit Focused on Consumer Tablets


An internal memo circulating through HP suggests the company has created a new Mobility business unit that will focus on consumer tablets and other unannounced projects. The branch will reportedly be helmed by former Nokia MeeGo vet Alberto Torres beginning in September, with HP’s Todd Bradley overseeing operations.
HP currently has a  although the new division will apparently have no affect on its arrival. With the TouchPad a distant memory, and webOS being, it’s unclear what direction Torres and Bradley will take the new venture.
“With this move, we are building on our commitment to re-invest in mobility via dedicated leadership, focused research and development, amazing new products and a growing suite of applications and services,” Bradley said in the company memo.
We should know more come September, when the new unit officially beings work
